Following the completion of the 21-day mourning for Oba Owolabi Olakulehin who joined his ancestors on July 7, the Olubadan-In-Council at its meeting on August 4, nominated Oba Rashidi Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The former governor was nominated in absentia as the next occupant of the stool.
Although, FRESHPAGE noted that Oba Ladoja wasn’t in the country as at the time Oba Olakulehin passed. This newspaper also reported that Oba Ladoja since returned to the country is receiving visitors at his Lagos residence.

The Balogun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola precided over the meeting. In his words; he said, “We (members of the Olubadan-In-Council) have all signed and nominated Oba Rashidi Ladoja as the new Olubadan of Ibadanland.
“We will forward the resolutions of our meeting to our Governor, Seyi Makinde. He will now pick a date to present a staff of Office to the new Olubadan.
“The late Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, will be buried this week. So, this week is not feasible.
He (Makinde) may decide to pick three weeks, two weeks or one week.”
